Poll for Course Start Date
Tell me your preferences for when the course should start
The poll last week indicated that an 8 week course was the most popular option, so that is what we will do. I am also on a family vacation for the first two weeks of July, so the course will take a vacation then as well. The course will start on a Monday and end on a Thursday. Given that, there are four plausible start and end dates:
Please indicate which you prefer. Also, if there is one date (or dates) that are particularly bad (or good) for you, please leave a comment. I measure preference intensity by looking at the comments. Only comment if you are highly likely to take the course.
My current thinking is that May 20 is bad because too many students have AP exams that week. I am also suspicious about a June 10 start because that takes the course too late into the summer. My vague preference is for June 3, if only because that means we have 4 weeks before our “vacation” and four weeks after.
But I am very interested in the preferences of (likely!) students.
I prefer course starting in the first week of July and running for 6 weeks.
I believe May 20th and the May 27th start dates are too close to the AP exams, so I was thinking June 3rd was a better date. June 10th, may also extend into the summer break a lot. Just something to think about when you are picking options.
