Kane’s Data Science Bootcamp will run again in June, dates/times to be determined. This email list will be picking up so, if you are no longer interested, please unsubscribe.
Thanks to Navya Joshi (nj137427@gmail.com) who has kindly volunteered to be our Executive Director and Head Teaching Fellow!
We are seeking volunteers for Program Directors. You do not need to have taken the course to be a Program Director. The role involves establishing relationships with the students and teachers at a target school and raising awareness about the course. This will will involve lots of emails and phone calls to people whom you do not (yet!) know. I think that the total time commitment is about 20 hours over the next two months.
We are seeking volunteers for Teaching Fellows. In all but exceptional circumstances, you do need to have taken the course before. The total time commitment is about 30 hours. TFs don’t do any grading or prep work. They just run their breakout rooms during class. Class will almost certainly meet from 8:00 to 9:00 PM on M/W/Th. It is no problem if you have to miss some classes because of family or school obligations. A major benefit of being a TF is that, even if you have taken the course, you will come to understand the material at a much deeper level.
If you are interested in either (or both) of these roles, email Navya. She will help organize a meeting at which I can answer questions. (Or feel free to ask questions in the comments to this post.)
All these positions, like my own, are unpaid. We are all volunteering to make the world a better place!
I have never seen such an amazing data science course before. Thank you, sir, for your time and dedication.
